Nd:Yag Laser

Dantini Dental uses an Nd:Yag laser made by Sunrise Technologies. Its 1064 nm wavelength is the most commonly used in dentistry.
The Nd:Yag is available in continuous wave and free-running pulsed models. Ours is the 5-watt free running type. This version delivers extremely short bursts, allowing the tissue to relax thermally between pulses. At its lower energy settings, local anesthetic often is not required.

The Nd:YAG's near-infrared wavelength is best absorbed by darkly stained or red inflamed tissue. It can also be used to bleach teeth. This is quicker but no more effective than the simpler and cheaper methods we offer.
